We can all learn from my son 9 year old Charlie Goodridge, another trophy this weekend winning the East Anglian u12 championship. I love caddying for him and watching him play, so what can we learn?
Charlie has had a club in his hands since he was big enough to stand up (he loves it down the golf range / pushy parent), all the hard work down the range with a sound technique creates the fundamentals to work.
He has hit 1000s of golf balls most of the time under supervision by either myself or one of my assistants watching him, showing him, helping him or challenging him ! There is lesson number one...
More Tuition- practicing the right things
Second lesson Charlie chips and putts with No Fear! What do we all worry about?
Thirdly Charlie enjoys it, totally loves it.....it's just a game!
Enjoy your golf this week guys, if you know any juniors who want to learn my team and I have been helping them for FREE every Saturday between 1-2 pm just buy some balls.
Well done son keep doing the same things.
Is it the 'Big Three' or the 'Big Four'?
Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.
Next week's Open at Royal Troon could be a classic
Which leads us on to a new section of our website - our regular poll, and we want your votes. Tell us who you think will win the Open Championship next week; will it be Day, Johnson, Spieth, McIlroy or A.N. Other?
